Polls show strong public support for Rt. 16 station
Respondents to two online newspaper polls overwhelmingly support the state’s recent recommendation for a Green Line station at Mystic Valley Parkway (Route 16).
In a Medford Transcript poll, which remains open, 86 percent of the respondents (226) favor the Route 16 station, while only 10 percent (27 votes) oppose it.
In an Arlington Advocate poll earlier this month, 81 percent of the respondents (81) favored the Route 16 station, and 16 percent (16) opposed it.
On February 3, the state Executive Office of Transportation announced its recommendation of the Mystic Valley Parkway/Route 16 site as the terminus station on the Green Line extension, pending the state’s ability to secure federal funding for that leg of the project.
